BRANCH REVIEWS
Hello. I am currently using Trustco Bank. I had a small sum in the bank.
I have had enough. Last year we had a $35,000 check that the teller deposited into my son's account.
I we hadn't checked it.... a week later, wouldn't that have been a shocker!
They decided to send me to paperless, only problem was I couldn't get into their system. So no bank statements for 2 years... try doing your taxes with that amount of information.
I had about $200 K in a couple accounts. To be honest, I actually didn't have confidence it would be there when I went for it. Remember... no bank statements. So, I drummed up the courage and went into one of the branches to get a check to open a CD at another bank. I look around and see the 5.125% 6 month CD. Well, maybe I save some time and just see a manager and open up an account.
No problem, she says. Cool, this should be a no brainer. Well, I am moving $100 K over and being that Trustco is in the business of saving paper, I am wondering what I am going to walk out with. So, "what's your social", the manager says... She spends 7 minutes typing and gathering information. But keeps asking me if my Social # is accurate. I don't know man! But that # has worked for 50 years, why not now? So, me being a polite fella I ask, is there a problem? She looks dumbfounded. Umm, the system seems to be having a problem! After a couple more attempts, and failures... I can see the handwriting in the wall! Hey, my wife has dinner cooking so I gotta bolt. I can come back another time! Yeah, that aint never happening!!!!
So I take my paperwork and split. Drive 1 mile south on rte 50 and boom..... "Hello sir, thank you for coming! How can we help you!? Would you like a water while you wait? Wow! you talking to me? You are treating me like I am a human being. I sit in a nice chair, talking to a nice banker. We laugh. She makes me feel cofident my money is safe. There you go sir! thank you for your business! On the way out.... someone else drops a "Have a nice rest of your day". Honestly, I looked around to see if they were talking to me.
Fast forward to 4:30 today. Someone calls from trustco! Here I am figuring I was going to get a "please sir, how can we make banking with us, better?" Nah! I got some uncooth unprofessional youngin, scolding me!
Man! I banked there for 35 years! Good bye to you! Yuck!
