History Of Trust Company of America

Trust Company of America was established on July 20, 1992, originally operating under the name Gemisys Trust Company and lacking Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) insurance. The company became FDIC insured and changed its primary federal regulatory agency to the FDIC on September 30, 1997, at which point it also adopted the name Trust Company of America following its acquisition of another entity located in Boulder, Colorado. Subsequently, on January 1, 2006, the main office relocated to 7103 South Revere Parkway in Centennial, Colorado. On April 9, 2018, Trust Company of America merged with E*TRADE Savings Bank, which is based in Arlington, Virginia. This merger was part of a series of consolidations that culminated on January 1, 2022, when Trust Company of America merged with E*TRADE Bank and subsequently became part of Morgan Stanley Private Bank, National Association, also located in Purchase, New York.
