WesBanco Bank, Inc. is a regional bank located in Wheeling, West Virginia, established on January 20, 1870, originally as the Wheeling Dollar Savings & Trust Company. Over the years, the institution underwent multiple name changes, becoming Wheeling Dollar Bank in 1985 and rebranding as WesBanco Bank in 2000. WesBanco has expanded its footprint significantly through a series of acquisitions, including notable purchases such as The Bank of McMechen and The Bank of Paden City in 1998, and Fidelity Savings Bank in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in 2012. The bank's regulatory status changed in 2008 when it withdrew from the Federal Reserve System and became a state-chartered bank under the supervision of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). I had hit a boulder in their parking lot and the manager came to see if I was OK and took me inside to wait for tow. The manager and staff were so very kind to me offering services to help me, water, checking in to see about towing and offering any assistance. I recently had an issue which required creating a new account at the Bloomfield Branch. I considered closing the existing account, but the staff (Mac and Jamie) went to extraordinary lengths to remediate the problem so that it was not a consideration.
