I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding the treatment I received during my visit to your Redondo Beach location today, March 26, at approximately 11:30 AM.
I have been a loyal Bank of America customer for over 10 years and maintain three separate accounts with your institution. During my visit, I attempted to withdraw $2,000 from my personal account. However, an employee named Marissa Martinez informed me that I could only withdraw $700 because I did not have my physical debit card with me. I explained that I had successfully withdrawn $3,500 just a few days prior using the standard verification procedures without my card.
Ms. Martinez then consulted Jessie Majarrez, who was identified as the General Manager. Mr. Majarrez also stated that I could only receive $700 of my funds. Because of this mistreatment and the refusal to grant me access to my own money, I made the decision to close all of my accounts immediately.
I find it deeply concerning and illogical that the branch would rather see a long-term customer close their accounts and withdraw all their funds than fulfill a simple $2,000 withdrawal request. I felt targeted and discriminated against during this interaction, an experience I never expected from Bank of America.
I am requesting a formal review of this incident and a response regarding the behavior of the staff at this location.
