Branch Reviews & Complaints
A depositor in Brookline Bank since 1999, I value consistently competent service from two arms of this organization's professional family: both the Back Office & After Hours Staffers by phone, and Brookline Branch Tellers and Officers at 1340 Beacon Street in the old, Tudor-style S. S. Pierce (pronounced PURSE) high-end grocery store of yore. The COVIDian inconvenience has turned me into a homebody who now but rarely dons a KN95 mask and shows up in person. Despite that, amiable Tellers routinely hail me by name across the lobby whenever I enter. It's gratifying to be recognized as more than an account number or an ATM with feet. Chatting amiably as longtime friends while efficiently conducting business marbles practicality with a social visit—a potent counterweight to that hidden pandemic of soul-shriveling isolation which sabotages health and longevity of 1 out of every 2 Americans, according to recent U.S. Surgeon General Vivek Murtha, MD. He warns that isolation and loneliness are as damaging to our current health and cherished longevity as is smoking tobacco or THC. Socializing is both good for business and lifetime-extending. Thanks, Brookline Bank friends & adoptive cousins! As my Scottish ancestors said, "Lang may yer lum reek!" Sassenach translation: "Long may your candle smoke!"
