Would like to share my two cents about the branch in Liberty Hill so it can benefit customer in the future. I had a very large CD coming due and was wanting to add an additional $250,000 to my current CD and renew. The rate had come down due to interest rates coming down and I asked the bank manger if they could come up to match my 4.57 rate, I have in PNC with my high yield savings account so I could leave my money with Classic Bank. I was told they don't negotiate rates and to not have my CD renew automatically I would have to come in and sign paperwork. I mentioned that I did DocuSign to sign up for it, but she said I still would have to come in to cancel my renewal and move my money to PNC since DocuSign was not an option. I asked several times about this, but the answer was final that I had to come in. Keep in mind they have "true" bank hours from 8 to 5 and zero weekends, making it difficult to get to if you work out of Liberty Hill. So, as I left work 1 hour early, I noticed traffic was not going to all me to get there in time, so I had to call. This time I got Shannon in the Giddings location and what a pleasant surprise. She tried to save my account and get me a better rate to keep me with Classic Bank. Although, the rate was not as good as PNC High Yield Savings Account she was able to send me a DocuSign and handle the cancellation of my renewal of the CD right then and there. Shannon deserves employee of the year and a raise. Service like this will keep your bank customers happy and the money in your bank instead of others. You have lost over 1 million dollars of our money and the opportunity to get our next mortgage which will be in about 60 days and again, very sizable amount. We will be moving our three accounts we have with you and writing another separate review about my wife's jumbo CD where you renewed her and wanted to charge her $6,000 dollars to get out of it. The public needs to know how you treat your clients.
I would like to share another experience my wife had with Classic bank this past week. My wife and I both had very large CD's coming due and based on the rates coming down so much we were looking for options. You have "10 calendar days" not "business days" to stop your CD from automatically renewing which apparently their reps are confused on. The letter they sent to us didn't specify business or calendar hours, so you get a variety of answers depending on who you get to talk to. So somehow over the weekend the CD magically renewed while they are not open on the weekends so when you wife called Monday morning, she was two days too late. They told her it would cost her $6,000 dollars to cancel the CD. Are you kidding me! I deal with millions of dollars each day and banks all long and have never seen a fee like this to cancel a CD. They tried to rob my wife! If you see my other review, you will see how they lost my business too. I told my wife to call Shannon in the Giddings bank location and speak with her, that she was able to help me and tried to save my business and truly cared about the clients. Shannon was able to go to the top of the chain again for us and get my wife out of a CD for around $330.00 instead of $6,000 dollars. Shannon cares about your bank and really deserves a raise and a promotion. Even taking $330.00 from my wife to get out of a CD that you can't fix on a weekend because you are closed is wrong and should be considered. Customer please look at my other review for my experience and you may consider other options for banks once you review.
