CommunityOne Bank

CommunityOne Bank was established on January 1, 1907, originally named The First National Bank of Asheboro. Over the years, it underwent several name changes, becoming The First National Bank of Randolph County on March 1, 1976, and later First National Bank and Trust Company on October 1, 1990. In the early 2000s, the bank continued its expansion through acquisitions, including Richmond Savings Bank in Rockingham, North Carolina, in June 2000, and Rowan Savings Bank, Ssb, Inc. in China Grove, North Carolina, in November 2004. In 2006, the institution began operating under the name CommunityOne Bank, National Association, following the acquisition of Alamance Bank in Graham, North Carolina, and First Gaston Bank of North Carolina in Gastonia, North Carolina. Further growth occurred in June 2013 with the acquisition of Bank of Granite in Charlotte, North Carolina. The bank merged with Capital Bank Corporation in October 2016 and subsequently became part of First Tennessee Bank, National Association on November 30, 2017. Finally, on October 26, 2019, the institution changed its name to First Horizon Bank.
