I am filing a complaint against First Federal Community Bank for what I believe to be deceptive and misleading practices related to a commercial credit card account.
At the time of application, the terms and structure of the account were represented in a way that materially influenced my decision to proceed. However, once the account was opened, the actual terms did not align with what had been described.
When I contacted customer service to request correction, I was informed that no changes could be made unless I consented to an additional hard credit inquiry. The only alternative offered was to close the account.
I believe this places an unreasonable burden on the consumer to correct what appears to be a misrepresented product. Requiring a second credit pull to fix an issue that originated during the bank's application or onboarding process is not appropriate.
I am requesting:
Correction of the account terms as originally represented without additional credit inquiry, OR
Closure of the account with written confirmation of no negative impact to my credit profile
This experience raises serious concerns regarding transparency and fair dealing in the bank's credit card practices.
