The First National Bank of Oklahoma has a history that dates back to its establishment on January 1, 1917, originally operating under the name The First National Bank in Tonkawa. Over the years, the institution underwent several significant changes and expansions. On April 4, 1985, the bank acquired the Bank of Hunter, which marked its first major acquisition. This was followed by a name change to First National Bank of Oklahoma on April 16, 1987. In 1993, the bank expanded its operations further by acquiring Leadership Bank, National Association, located in Oklahoma City. The main office has also relocated several times; on December 1, 1997, it moved to 1324 East Grand Avenue in Ponca City, Oklahoma, followed by a shift on June 6, 2008, to 1501 East Prospect Avenue in Ponca City.
