I have had accounts with Five Star Bank for over 40 years, since it was Wyoming County Bank. They used to care about their customers. Now the have a skyscraper in Rochester and could care less about the human aspect of banking. I just went in to close my accounts and wasn't even asked why. If they had bothered to ask i would have said their customer service is awful. They refused to cash a ten dollar rebate check when I was an established customer with 3 accounts and way more than ten dollars in the bank. I also worked for them for 13 years. They are clearly not the small town bank they used to be. Treating people right and keeping customers is clearly not their goal. Very sad. They have fallen al long way since Wyoming County bank.
This bank is NOT "traveler friendly". I was visiting Penn Yan and just wanted to break two $100 bills into $20's. The teller refused to do that because I did not have an account with the bank. Since when is U. S Currency refused unless you have an account? I will make sure that I inform my hotel to warn other visitors that this bank is not friendly to travelers.
