Our Community Bank

Our Community Bank, originally established as the Owen County Federal Savings and Loan Association on January 1, 1911, underwent several name and regulatory changes throughout its history. On April 30, 1989, it was renamed Owen Federal Savings Bank and converted to a Mutual Savings Bank. The organization transitioned to a Stock Savings Bank on July 5, 1996. Following further regulatory changes, the institution's name was updated to Owen Community Bank on May 2, 1994, and it became subject to oversight by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and state chartering authorities. On July 1, 2011, it changed its name to Our Community Bank and altered its classification to a commercial bank while remaining a state-chartered institution not part of the Federal Reserve System. The bank operated under limited trust powers from March 31, 2002. After more than a century of service, Our Community Bank voluntarily closed and liquidated its assets on December 31, 2021.
