Security 1st is the absolute worse bank to do business with. With excellent credit I borrowed $40k to paid back over 10 yrs. The 1st payment I paid via online bank draft was 20k, made within the first 30 days, the 2nd payment was for 19k made with 60 days and the 3rd was 500 made with 120 days. With only $500 to pay off, I was charged more than $800 in interest along with a litany of late fees because all of sudden, there was an "account error" with my method of payment. Though they collected $39,000 using the same bank, same account and same bank account number. I suspect shady business practices coupled with an aggressive way to increase fees. Also, worth mentioning is how rude the so-called manager Mark Peirson is. BE WARNED and STAY AWAY. Zero stars from me
Don't be fooled. They'll greet you with a red carpet and then treat you like garbage once they have your money. I am truly, truly shocked and deeply hurt by how poorly we have been treated by this bank. Not returning phone calls time after time after time, sending inaccurate data to the credit agencies, bill pay errors where duplicate payments are sent out resulting in overdrafts, escrows not being setup correctly, negative and unnecessary actions in the car insurance department... and worst off, not admitting their errors, and then acting snooty when we even suggest they made a mistake. We did all of our business through this bank and we are DONE. I'm sick of being let down and having to depend on these amateurs who just don't seem to show the slightest bit of care, urgency, or competency toward ANY aspect of their jobs. There are plenty of banks in Chadron. Stay away from this one. They are awful.
