I just came from trying to deposit a Wells Fargo Stock check for $23 to my account. My sister's name is on the stock check. She has passed away and I just removed her from the bank account. This branch would not deposit this check because they said they needed her signature. I have been a member of this bank since they purchased it from Interewest. I would think I should be able to deposit a check for this amount to my account. I have not been happy with the service I have recieved at this branch since it became Wells Fargo. Most of the staff have been friendly except for one person.
I also named my nephew as my beneficiary for this account. I'm surprised that WFB did not require a SS# for him. I told the bank that tne beneficiary's grandpa has the same name. The question asked was "Will he try to claim the money?" I can't deposit a $23 check to my account but anyone with my nephews name can claim the money in the account? Doesn't make sense to me.
I also wish that i could get help in making the necessary changes to my stock account.
