Bank OZK, originally established as Newton County Bank on March 3, 1903, has undergone several transformations and expansions throughout its history. The institution changed its name to Bank of the Ozarks in 1999, marking a significant rebranding for the bank. Over the following years, Bank of the Ozarks pursued an aggressive growth strategy, acquiring several banks across various states, including River Valley Bank in Arkansas in 2003 and Sun Bank in Texas in 2004, among others.
