Comerica Bank

Comerica Bank, originally established as The Detroit Savings Bank in 1849, has undergone several name changes and acquisitions throughout its history. In 1936, it changed its name to The Detroit Bank and later to The Detroit Bank and Trust Company in 1956. In 1982, the institution adopted the name Comerica Bank-Detroit. The bank expanded significantly in the late 1980s through various acquisitions, including Comerica Bank-Warren, Comerica Bank-Troy, and Comerica Bank-Livonia, among others, all located in Michigan. The institution officially rebranded as Comerica Bank in 1991 following the acquisition of Comerica Bank National Association in Jackson, Michigan. Following further growth, including the acquisition of Manufacturers Bank in 1992 and Comerica Bank & Trust, Federal Savings Bank in 1998, the bank relocated its main office to One Detroit Center in Detroit in 1993. In the early 2000s, Comerica continued its expansion by acquiring Comerica Bank - Texas and Comerica Bank - California in 2003. The main office was moved again in 2007 to 1717 Main Street, Dallas, Texas. Today, Comerica Bank remains a prominent financial institution with a strong presence in multiple states.
