Fifth Third Bank, National Association, is a financial institution with roots tracing back to its establishment in 1865 as The Citizens National Bank & Trust Company of Piqua in Ohio. Over the years, the bank underwent several name changes, including becoming The Miami Citizens National Bank & Trust Company in 1963 and later Citizens Heritage Bank, National Association in 1987. The bank has expanded significantly through multiple acquisitions, including notable entities such as The Fifth Third Bank of Western Ohio in 1991 and Capital Bank National Association in 2001. In December 2000, it adopted the name Fifth Third Bank, consolidating its identity.
