Hamlin National Bank was established on January 1, 1907, originally operating under the name The Farmers & Merchants National Bank of Hamlin. On October 15, 1979, the institution changed its name to Hamlin National Bank. The bank subsequently relocated its main office to 231 South Central Avenue in Hamlin, Texas, on November 10, 1980. In a significant expansion, Hamlin National Bank acquired The Farmers National Bank of Rule, Texas, on September 3, 1999. The bank continued to operate until it merged with Vista Bank, based in Ralls, Texas, on June 3, 2017, at which point it ceased to exist as an independent institution.
