History Of Martinsburg Bank and Trust

Martinsburg Bank and Trust was established on April 3, 1893, originally under the name Martinsburg Bank. Over the years, the institution underwent several changes, including an expansion of its trust powers to full status in 1906. The bank experienced a series of relocations, with its main office moving to various addresses within Mexico, Missouri. Notably, on April 5, 1988, the office was relocated to 420 West Monroe, followed shortly by a move to 400 South Muldrow on September 19 of the same year. The institution rebranded as Martinsburg Bank and Trust on January 9, 1996, and expanded its trust powers to full status in December of that year. On March 31, 2006, the bank's name was officially changed to Martinsburg Bank and Trust. Further relocations occurred until the bank's main office was moved to its final address at 400 South Muldrow on August 2, 2005. Ultimately, Martinsburg Bank and Trust merged with The Bank of Missouri from Perryville, Missouri, on February 10, 2018, becoming a part of that institution and ceasing to operate independently.
