Old National Bank Arden Hills

I've been a customer of Old National bank for over 20 years and have always had a positive experience with--until today April 16th, 2026. In November 25 my mother passed away. She also banked at ONB. Because I work near the branch in Arden Hills, I went there to handle matters related to her account. A banker named Jessica assisted me at that time. I provided her with death cert and a notarized affidavit for collection (when I was ready to close account). Jessica was aware I would be coming in with checks that came into my mother's account and possible any bills that may go through. Jessica said she would waive any monthly service charges if needed. Most importantly she showed compassion. On April 15th, again I went to Arden Hills branch and deposit a check. I was informed that Jessica was no longer there, but the gentlemen was nice and went on my way after it was deposited. Today April 16th, 2026, I returned again to deposit a check for my mother and experience that was completely different. While I was waiting, I observed two tellers chatting with the branch manager. When they finally stop talking, the two tellers helped me. I provided them with the check, my mother's id and bank card just as I done successfully the day before. After the long delay, the two tellers went to speak privately with the branch officer. When they finally came out, I asked what the issue was, even though there had been no issue the previouys day or prior visits when all documention had already been provided. The branch manager came out but did not speak to me directly. Instead, he questioned the tellers within earshot, making me feel as though I was being scrutinized or suspected of doing something wrong. I felt dismissed, judged, and spoken about rather than spoken to. At no point did he show empathy or acknowledge the sensitivity of handling a deceased parent's account. I was already emotionally vulnerable, and the lack of compassion was devastating. I left the branch in tears and felt so uncomfortable that I decided to take my business elsewhere and close both accounts. After more than two decades with Old National Bank, I never expected to be treated this way. This experience felt insensitive and dehumanizing, especially given the circumstances surrounding my mother's death. I truly will be sharing this to Facebook, google review and anyone who will listen and never bank here!!
