I walked into this branch to deposit my paychecks and I was treated as a thief. I had a paychecks to deposit. I hadn't had time to go to the bank before today. I gave the cashier my i.d., deposit slip and paychecks. She proceeded to ask me who I worked for and then she wanted my social security number. I have NEVER had a cashier treat me like this. I told her that she had my i.d. and asked why she needed my social security number. She claimed it was to protect my account because she a never seen me before. That is 100% bull. I told her that those were my paychecks. I should NOT have to justify how I do my banking to anyone. When she was done with my social security number she asked if I wanted her to dispose of it. I f old NO, I would take care of shredding it. I would NOT trust her to dispose of it properly. As far as I'm concerned who knows what she would have done with it. I have been to other M&T branches and have NOT been treated this badly. If the cashier had looked at my previous deposits, she would have seen that I have deposited 3 paychecks before. I used this branch today because I was in that area to run some errands. I have made note to NEVER step into this branch again and if anyone asks about this branch I will certainly steer them away from it.
My household is leaving M&T Bank after about 20 years because of two of their bank tellers who like to insult and gang up on clients. One is a male who was not working there until around October and the female is someone I hadn't seen before the last few months either. They sit next to each other. Today was the last straw and now both myself and my partner will be moving our buisness to another bank completely. The first occurence was around September when I lost my wallet and that is also the first time I had interactions with the male teller. I had to cancel all my debit cards to avoid problems and this fellow decided to cancel my partners card instead. It caused a lot of problems because there was no way to access our money for about a week or more except to go directly to a branch. It took a while for my partner to get a replacement. Fortunately my wallet was found and returned to me two weeks later and guess what, my debit card still worked. Imagine if it had been stolen as I originally feared.
That day as I was in line the female sidekick was making fun of a man who was in line ahead of me. They were both very sarcastic to him because he did not want to pay a fee for something and was asking how to avoid the fee. As soon as he left she commented how cheap he was and the male said, "yeah he has $5000 in his account but won't spend 25 dollars". Nobody wants to deal with a bank that has such low standards of conduct.
Today I went to the bank to withdraw some cash that was over the limit at the ATM. I gave the male teller the withdrawal slip and my enhanced drivers license id which has my photo on it. He was looking at the screen tapping here and there for about five minutes and I asked him if there was a problem with my account. He said that the withdrawal slip signature did not look like the signature they have so I pointed out that he had my id with my photo on it and had served me before.( In fact the people of that bank have seen me for the past 15 years.) His female sidekick intrudes and said" he's following protocol . You can come back later if you can't wait." The male then asked me for the last four numbers of my social security which was unnecessary and not something to say out loud in a bank line. These two are abusive and hate the clients... Finally I got my money. I went to the manager and told her what happened however I had told the manager before about the attitude of these two and nothing is changed. That is why we are changing banks and taking our savings and checking accounts out of M&T.
This is not about the branch -- it's a great place. I've been there many times and everyone is always helpful. My issue is that there should be an ability to search through our transactions online. I am interested, at present, with finding all my estimated taxes. But there's no feature online that I can do that. I'd like to suggest that your IT people provide a search feature that allows one to search for a term or phrase over a time span. I retired from an IT position at my company and know how to do this. It's not hard and it would really help customers.
I had apply open account on 6/30/2025 – about my debit card mail to my address. Never shown up. They allow me 7–10 business days to my address. I had despoist $40.00 (checking saving account). I do not not trust my postal mail. I had lost few items by them, file complaint, then they wanna charge me fee $25.00. I will give them till Tuesday by mail. Then I have go to branch in White Plain. Closed account.
Hi all, I'm more writing this to info you oh the scam that the banks atm are in cahoots on… the service fee… the take 3 dollars unless you got to an affiliate atm… funny because if i got the local market and pay debt and get cash back… i get no fees… so you want debt you want no scams… then go to the local market buy a 10cent piece of candy and get cash back… cheers
M&T are the most self interested bank in the are- THEY and They alone a feel they are beyond being held accountable to their customers needs or best interest - INSTEAD they offer bank babble pertaining to their policies and that the way it is !! NO if and or butt - leaving one in total dismay and a veryempty feeling of being used to their advantage NOT the customers wants or needs PLease do your a favor and avoid this place as there are many others that are most than willing to listen and meet a persons needs - you will much happier with another bank than this place.

I had two loans with this bank almost a year ago, which both were transferred to J.C Morgan. They were supposed to send me almost over 1,700.00 overpaid back to me, but they never sent that. I called them many times, and each time, they said it would be in the mail, but they never did. In my opinion, they are a tiff. Behnam Firouzi.
MT bank needs to open Saturday until 2:00 P.M. AND Sundays until 12:00 p.m. For real People United Banks was the best. You need to reach the Excellence of People's United Bank. By extending your days and hours.
A Perinton M&T business and personal customer for decades, my experience with the staff has always been very professional and personable. They always go above and beyond to service the customer.
Why why on God's green earth would you close this branch. Is was so convenient, loyal and friendly tellers and managers. Now I'm goingbto be looking for another back that serves me and cares about me I was with peoples for 30 years before you took over and now you go and close the new milford ct branch you are a n evil and vindictive corporation. I only hope you made a error in judgment and will reopen this office. Sad in New milford ct Dawn
My Peoples bank became M&T bank. However the service is not the same any more. The employee at the branches are still exceptional but not sure about the rest. Especially honoring the pay by date on scheduled payment. They are quick to take the fund but not at delivering them. I was just surprise of the late payment fee acquired. I learned my lesson and have to rethink.
I can highly recommend Lisa in the Clifton, NJ Branch. She took care of my complicated and very time consuming IRA issues with a smile and positive attitude. I am a very happy M&T Bank Customer, Monika Castillo
Today, I called the 716-635-4190 number listed above! After 1 hour 35 minutes, someone answered, only long enough to disconnect the call! I take their idea of customer service is to Ignore any and all Calls! So if some there cares enough you can either call me back at 701-347-0141 if you have time or possibly email me @ zidonrandal@yahoo,com! It is in regards to a check from Pollard Electrical Sales that was returned!
The agent there was so rude and unprofessional. I came there 20mn before the branch is closed and she did not resolve my request on time and she told me that next time I need to come early not 15 mn before. She did not know how to resolve my issue and had to call someone else and so was on hold for 3Omn. Super rude!!!
Guys, what happened? I went to get my 400 dollars for my rent from Corbin Ave stop and shop M&T Bank and it was shut down, the atm was blocked off too on March 1st, 2023. I had to go to the main office of M&T Bank in town to get the money from my account but, It got taken care of thankfully. Will that bank still be there or what?
Conducted a non traditional transaction that required a bank associate to go over and beyond a normal effort to complete for me. Was more than satisfied with the effort Richard Coker performed under extenuating circumstances. He made it a personal experience along with his professionalism.
Lacking in customer service. They State the following and it's not true. Mortgage Inquiries Monday–Friday 8:30am–9pm ET. Every time I call it's closed. They are preventing me from making my payments online. "The worst bank of any bank I've interacted with in my life". The worst thing that can happen to you is getting your loan transferred to this bank. They don't even have a branch in Florida.
Stay away, unless you want to waste a lot of time in getting an answer to straight forward question. Too many ways they charge fees. And the management never has the correct answer, wait for other departments for weeks to provide an answer. You could wait for months to get an answer.
I just wanted to make some comments about Cara Callahan who was very helpful & patient with my Mom & me on solving our banking problem on Thursday, April 7, 2022. A relative had forged a check from my Mom's account & she was frantic because it involved a large sum of money. Ms. Callahan was efficient & explained in detail what had to take place in order to process this complaint. Ms. Demerit assisted her & us with this problem. Both I think deserve honorable mention for "employees of the month" in going beyond what they did to assure my Mom that everything was being taken care of to recover her money. Thanking you both in advance for ALL of your help.
I have been going to this branch since our branch at Green Hills Plaza was closed. The staff has been warm and courteous, remembering my name, assisting me with transactions beyond simple check cashing.
Hours of drive thru suck for the working man! Stay open til 5pm
This is, by far, one the warmest, most welcoming banks I have ever come across -- after five continents and fifty years looking.. They will do anything for a customer -- except rob their own bank -- if it is not too silly!
